What CohabHaven is — and isn't

CohabHaven is a concierge service that helps women find and screen housemates to share a home with, on purpose rather than by chance. Right now, cohabhaven.com is a waitlist page for that upcoming service.

CohabHaven is not:

• A landlord, property manager, or party to any lease or rental agreement
• A broker or real estate agent
• A background-check company (we plan to use a licensed third-party provider for that)
• A guarantee of a housing outcome, a compatible match, or the accuracy of anything another user tells us or you
• A law firm, and nothing on this site or in CohabHaven's products (including the Housemate Agreement and Housemate Screening System) is legal advice

Who can join the waitlist

You must be at least 18 years old to sign up. CohabHaven is designed for women choosing to share housing; by joining, you confirm the information you submit is accurate and that it's really you submitting it.

No guarantees

Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee you a match, a specific timeline, or that CohabHaven will launch in your city. We're an early-stage business and things may change as we build.

How we expect you to use this site

Please don't use cohabhaven.com to submit false information, to harass or impersonate anyone, to scrape or copy the site's content, or to attempt to access any part of the service you're not authorized to use.

Our content and products

The text, design, and downloadable products on this site and sold through CohabHaven's Etsy shop (including the Housemate Agreement and Housemate Screening System) are CohabHaven's intellectual property. Those products are educational tools, not legal advice or a substitute for consulting a local attorney — laws about shared housing vary by state and city.

No warranties

This site and the waitlist are provided "as is." We do our best to keep things accurate and working, but we don't promise the site will always be available, error-free, or perfectly secure.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, CohabHaven isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or waitlist. (This section, and dispute resolution generally, is exactly the kind of language that needs a proper legal review before CohabHaven handles any real money or housing agreements — treat it as a placeholder.)

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as CohabHaven grows, especially once matching, background checks, and paid memberships launch. We'll post the update here with a new "last updated" date.
