Privacy Policy

Who we are

CohabHaven is a concierge housemate-matching service built for women choosing to share a home on purpose. We are a Seattle, Washington-based single-member LLC. This policy covers cohabhaven.com and the waitlist form linked from it.

What we collect today

Right now, cohabhaven.com is a waitlist landing page. If you sign up, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Whether you're joining as someone with a room to offer or someone looking for a room
• Optionally, your city

This information is submitted directly to a Google Form and stored in a Google Sheet that only CohabHaven's founder can access. We don't currently ask for anything more sensitive than that on this page — no payment information, no government ID, no background-check data.

What we'll collect later (and how that will change)

As CohabHaven launches its full matching service, we plan to collect more detailed information from applicants who want to be matched — things like identity verification and background-check results (through a third-party provider, currently expected to be Checkr), household preferences, and references. When that happens, this policy will be updated and reviewed by counsel before that data collection begins, and you'll be asked for separate, explicit consent for background-check data as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Washington state law.

How we use your information

• To keep you on the waitlist and let you know when CohabHaven launches in your area
• To understand demand (e.g., how many people are interested as hosts vs. seekers, and where)
• To occasionally email you about CohabHaven's progress

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Full stop.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of vendors to run this site and the waitlist. Each of them only sees what they need to do their job:

• Google (Forms, Sheets, Workspace) — collects and stores your waitlist submission and lets us email you.
• Netlify — hosts cohabhaven.com. Netlify does not receive your waitlist data directly; the form posts straight to Google.
• Checkr (not yet in use) — will run background checks on applicants once matching launches, under its own privacy practices and with your separate consent.

We don't use third-party ad networks or sell data to data brokers.

Cookies & analytics

This site does not currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts. If that changes (for example, to add basic, privacy-respecting analytics), we'll update this section first.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until you ask us to remove it, or until it's no longer useful (for example, if CohabHaven never launches in your area and the waitlist is retired).

Your choices

You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist, or ask what information we have about you, at any time by emailing hello@cohabhaven.com. We'll honor that request promptly.

Not for anyone under 18

CohabHaven is a service for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

As the business grows — and especially once background checks and applicant matching go live — this policy will be replaced with a fuller, attorney-reviewed version. We'll post the update here with a new "last updated" date.
